Invitation: Major new report launch
Community, business, local government and other leaders, including MPs, from across Greater South East Melbourne are invited to the launch a new report that demonstrates billions in benefits for greater Melbourne if public service growth were to be reallocated to major precincts such as Dandenong and Monash.
The launch of the report Unlocking the potential: Promoting investment in Greater South East Melbourne will take place on 17 November from 10am in Dandenong’s Drum Theatre (Google Maps Link).
The event is hosted by Greater South East Melbourne (GSEM). Morning tea will be served.
GSEM commissioned SGS Economics & Planning to evaluate the impact of decentralisation on the Victorian economy.
A key finding of the report is a positive net impact if future public service growth were to be reallocated to major precincts such as Dandenong and Monash.
One of GSEM’s priority initiatives is to leverage the value of the two National Employment and Innovation Clusters (NEICs) in our region – Monash and Dandenong.
Key speakers at the launch will be GSEM Chair Simon McKeon AO, William Boadle (the report’s author from SGS Economics & Planning) and the City of Greater Dandenong Mayor.
Also attending will be business, community, education and local government representatives.
